How it worksYeh kaise kaam karta hai

You get a call from a mobile number. The caller sounds official and may use your name.Kisi mobile number se call aati hai. Caller official lagta hai, shayad aap ka naam bhi leta hai.
They say your account will be blocked, or ‘band ho jayega’, because of a CNIC or biometric issue.Kehta hai CNIC ya biometric masle ki wajah se account band ho jayega.
To ‘verify’, they ask for the 4 or 6-digit code you just got by SMS, your MPIN, or your CNIC issue date.‘Verify’ karne ke liye abhi SMS mein aaya 4 ya 6 digit code, MPIN, ya CNIC ki issue date maangta hai.
With that code they log in to your wallet on their own phone and send the balance away in minutes.Us code se woh apne phone par aap ka wallet khol lete hain aur minton mein balance nikaal lete hain.

How to spot itKaise pehchanein

The call comes from an ordinary 03XX number, not the official helpline.Call aam 03XX number se aati hai, official helpline se nahi.
They rush you: ‘only 10 minutes left’, ‘your account is being closed now’.Jaldi machate hain: ‘sirf 10 minute reh gaye’, ‘account abhi band ho raha hai’.
